Film-TV
Luminescence Media Group NFP has several film and television projects in development. Its current major project is the feature-length documentary film Rumbula's Echo.
Rumbula’s Echo is a documentary in which a new father's genealogy search for his daughter's namesake leads him and the film's viewers to the history of Jews in Latvia and the early days of Hitler's Final Solution. This is the first film focused on documenting the Rumbula Forest murders, among the largest two-day mass executions of the Holocaust prior to the operation of the death camps. This meticulously organized and savage shooting of a reported 27,800 people in two separate days must be documented in film while the few remaining survivors of the Holocaust in Latvia can still give testimony.
In addition to documenting the Holocaust in Latvia, Rumbula’s Echo shows how genealogical research can lead to strong personal ties to historical events, inspiring viewers to explore and document their own family histories including ties to the Holocaust.
